It’s been a week at home now, and I gotta say, this kid is freakin’ awesome. He doesn’t cry unless he needs something, he makes all kinds of old man faces, and he just melts your heart the way he looks up at you with his big (somehow) brownish eyes.

In this first week, he’s had his first doctor’s appointment, his first walk around the neighborhood, and lots and lots of visitors. Everyone was so excited to meet him, they came from all over.

Grandma Barb and Papa came from New York with Great-Grandma and Aunt Jean. They put up lots of decorations at our house so that everyone knew that the little guy had finally come home. They also brought the big, soft, stuffed dog that I’m sure we’ll find him riding in a few months.

Grammy Jane and Aunty Danielle have been over a bunch, watching him while mom and dad tried to catch a few stressless zzzz’s. Even Grumper came over and brought breakfast Sunday morning.

Grandma and Grandpa Casebolt brought over Alex’s Aunt Rachel and Uncle Ryan, who had been asking for days to see the little guy. When she was told she couldn’t go visit him in the hospital, Rachel declared that to be a “stupid rule.” They couldn’t quite believe just how small he was, or that they were that small not that long ago!

Grammy, Shannon, and Haley came over with our family’s other little baby, Tablespoon (Catelyn…it’s a long story).
